Vehicle theft

2x Theft of tools from vehicles

These happened on the same day in or around the area of the M&S carpark. Holes drilled into the body work around the locks to gain access.

Burglary

Burglary on Muswell Hill. Suspect has gained access to communal area. Damaged lock to gain entry to flat.

Attempt Burglary on Connaught Gardens. Owner was notified when her house alarm triggered. Upon return back kitchen window was broken.

Fortis Green Ward have had two burglaries on the side roads of Fortis Green. 

On the run up to Xmas I'm sure there will be others looking for some contributions to their Christmas fund but this is not the way to do it.

We will continue to conduct patrols in those areas.

We are always happy to attend addresses and provide advice regarding Home security. 

Burglaries happen at any time of the day, Even when people are in the property. They chance it in the expectation the house may be empty during the day.

Mobile Phone

Phone snatch - Suspect on a bicycle cycled past victim as she had her phone in her hand listening toa story on her phone. The phone was dropped by the suspect and retrieved by the victim.

All I can ask is that you be vigilant when out and about. Generally these criminals will be on electric bike or mopeds and masked up.

Whilst out and about please not do spend 100 %  of your time monitoring the screen on your phone. This is why you get targeted. Be aware of your surroundingts.

Shoplifting.

Shoplifting is still a problem. Something we are targeting with normal patrols and plain clothes patrols. In the last month we have had over 10 arrests. 

We dealt with two on Tuesday  who were also outstanding for other offences in other London Boroughs and Hertfordshire. These people clearly get around.

Pickpockets

These are usually a team of two of three people.

Their tactics vary. The do target banks loitering around as a customer looking for targets who will be taking cash out. They will be calling or texting someone outside  updating them of potential targets.

One or two people will then  follow you once you leave the bank knowing exactly where you placed the money. Inside jackets pockets are always a good place to place the money. Harder for them to get at.

Outside pockets and bags are easier. If you place it in a bag then move everything around to place it at the bottom.   You will know if someone is going through your bag then.

If you place your bag on a param never lose sight of that bag. People put the pram to one side in the shop and walk around leaving your bag exposed.

If they are going to pickpocket you one with stand close to you with clothing whilst the other will hide behind their cover and go into the bag you are holding.

If you leave you bag on the pram then again one will stand close between you and the pram whilst the other takes the bag. 

If whilst you are shopping and someone you do not know get up close and personal ie in your personal space be concerned.

Sadly for you I will have to take some time off over Xmas. I need to have some kind of work life balance to see the kids and grandkids. They probably wonder who I am.

I have the joy of working boxing day. How much fun is that. 

My one gift for Xmas is a set of wrist bracelets. And then they are only temporary. I take them back once I have accommodation booked for you.
