Male arrested for Going Equipped

Whilst on mobile patrol last night, local officers from the neighbourhood beat team saw a male who caught their attention.

The male, a well known thief and burglar in the Ashford area, was seen looking through a business premises window, with his hood up trying to conceal his identity. 

Officers stopped the male, searched him, and found him in possession of articles associated with theft offences, and is currently in custody for going equipped. 

This proactive stop by officers using their initiative has likely prevented this person committing further criminal offences and causing someone to be a victim of crime. 

With Christmas approaching, it is common that thief's and burglars will look to target addresses believing valuables are inside. Please be mindful to see doors and windows locked and contact Police in an emergency, as well as reporting any suspicious behaviour for Police to investigate.
