We recently carried out a range of activity as part of Op Scorpion, a national initiative to tackle drug crime Our officers teamed up with the British Transport Police to deter people from transporting drugs on the railways. Drugs dog ‘Jasper’ joined us in carrying out high visibility patrols on two trains travelling through South East Cornwall. He also went into train stations to sniff out drugs on anyone entering or leaving the train station. The exercise resulted in eight stations being patrolled, three seizures or drugs and one knife taken off the street. During the week we also carried out over 116 hours or patrols which included areas where drug crime had previously been reported to us and completed activity to raise awareness of county lines. This work isn’t a one off - activity like this happens throughout the year to tackle drug use and supply.
