Man arrested after cash seized

A man has been arrested after a large amount of cash was seized from a vehicle in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

At around 4pm yesterday (Thursday 4 December), officers stopped a car as part of an investigation into suspected organised crime. 

The car was searched and officers seized £30,000 in cash. 

A 63-year-old man, from Salford, Lancashire, has been arrested on suspicion of possession of criminal property and driving whilst unfit through drugs. 

He remains in custody for questioning.
