RE: Robbery Prevention Advice for the Community

I hope this message finds you well. As your local Police Community Support Officer (PCSO), I am writing to offer reassurance and provide practical advice following concerns about robberies at Gascoigne ward.

We understand that incidents of this nature can cause worry, and we want to ensure you feel safe and supported. Our Neighbourhood Policing Team is continuing proactive patrols and working closely with partners to deter offenders and protect the community. Alongside our work, there are simple steps you can take to reduce the risk of becoming a victim of robbery.

Robbery Prevention Advice

• Stay aware of your surroundings, particularly when walking alone or using your mobile phone in public.
• Keep valuables out of sight where possible—avoid displaying phones, jewellery, or other high-value items unnecessarily.
• Plan your routes, choosing well-lit, busier areas, especially after dark.
• Walk with confidence and avoid becoming distracted by devices or headphones.
• Secure your bags by keeping them closed and held on the side away from the road.
• If approached, prioritise your safety—property can be replaced, you cannot.
• Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, seek a safe place or approach a shop or member of the public.
• Report suspicious behaviour immediately, even if it seems minor. Your information could prevent further incidents.
