A male has now been charged with 14 separate offences of shoplifting following a series of incidents at a local business in the Castlefield area.
Between October and December 2025, the male repeatedly targeted the store, often attending multiple times per day and making off without payment for large quantities of goods. The scale of offending has been significant, with a total loss of £2,763.96 recorded against the business.
On 3rd December 2025, officers arrested the male after he was seen leaving the store with a bin bag containing stolen items. He was charged and has now been remanded in custody until the next available court date.
This case demonstrates the impact that persistent shoplifting can have on local businesses and the wider community. GMP is committed to tackling repeat offenders, protecting retailers, and ensuring that those responsible for such crimes are brought before the courts.
We continue to work closely with partners, including Manchester City Council and local businesses in Castlefield, to address offending behaviour and safeguard the community. |
