Tonbridge update |
||
|
Hello, Just a brief update on some current incidents in the Tonbridge area.
We have had a few reports of suspicious persons trying car doors overnight. Persons have been spotted in both North and south Tonbridge and seemingly try all car doors until they find an open one - seemingly they are looking for items within the car to steal rather than steal the car itself. Ensuring vehicles are locked is obviously the best deterrent combined with light sensors and CCTV. We have been patrolling to try and detect the persons but no luck so far . . . .
There has also been a couple of burglaries reported - entry has been gained by the rear of the properties and this is late afternoon when houses with no lights on present as empty. A suspect has been identified for one of these so all being well his Christmas will hopefully be porridge rather than turkey! (An old Ronnie Barker joke . . . .)
The scourge of nuisance motor bikes (including electric ones!) and E scooters continue to be reported. Police do take this seriously and will take enforcement action if we can catch/identify the riders and any help residents can provide on this is greatly appreciated.
On a cheerier note we very much enjoyed chatting to many of you at the Tonbridge Christmas Festival and listening to your views. Tonbridge is still a safe place to live with low crime levels - policing very much depends on the support of the public and as such please continue to report incidents to us no matter how insignificant you might think they are - as the saying goes “better to be safe than sorry.”
Kind regards
Phil and Jack
