What’s been happening? Good news In the last week we have had two vehicles seized. The first failed to stop from us in Castle Bromwich but located very quickly after in Smith’s Wood. The second came to our attention from community intelligence reporting an abandoned BMW X5 in Castle Bromwich. Checks revealed the car to be on false plates, and the real vehicle had no tax.
We have also continued making important arrests to bring in outstanding offenders and protect the public.
On Sunday we arrested a male in Sheldon who was wanted for a sexual assault back in July on a staff member in a pub that is on our area while she was working. Since the offence, we have collected CCTV that showed the incident, ascertained his home address and then visited him to lock him up.
This evening, we have recovered a stolen vehicle that was dumped near a set of garages in Smiths Wood. This has been recovered for forensic opportunities. The vehicle was stolen on the 2nd of December 2025 from Auckland Drive area, Smiths Wood.
We have also teamed up with other departments....
We arrested a male for threatening to kill a neighbour, actions that were also against his bail conditions. The Chelmsley Wood neighbourhood team then came in to interview the male. After a 2am finish for them, they charged him with Stalking and Criminal Damage caused to a cell in custody. He was remanded until court in January.
We also helped our colleagues in CID by arresting a female for a Public Order offence and possessing an offensive weapon at the time. She decided to hide in address where we knew she was so entry was forced and she was arrested. She was charged with both the Public Order and the offensive weapon offences. She has strict bail conditions ahead of her court date in January 2025.
Whilst on patrol around our beat areas yesterday evening, the residents were out awaiting a glimpse of the magical man of the season. As you can see from the photo I was very excited to have found him. He has assured me that I am not on the naughty list this Christmas!
