With the festive season underway many of us will be receiving more parcels at our doors as we prepare for the visit of the big red guy.

Unfortunately, many parcel delivery drivers deliver our parcels with all the care and consideration of an American paperboy with many items left on doorsteps unattended. This creates a perfect opportunity for any would-be thieves.

Across Tamworth we have already received many reports of doorstep parcel theft. Below is a number of tips to help protect your parcels, including a poster instructing deliverers to NOT leave parcels on your doorstep.  

✅ Security Tips to Protect Your Parcels

1. Track Your Deliveries

Use courier tracking apps and enable notifications so you know exactly when your parcel arrives.

2. Choose Safe Delivery Options

Deliver to a trusted neighbour.

Use Click & Collect or locker services for extra security.

3. Install a Door Camera

Video doorbells or CCTV can deter thieves and provide vital evidence if needed.

4. Avoid Leaving Parcels Outside

If you’re not home, request redelivery or specify a safe place that’s out of sight.

5. Report Suspicious Activity

If you notice anyone acting suspiciously around properties, report it immediately via 101 or online.
