General Update |
||
|
I wanted to share an update on my first couple of weeks as your Community Beat Officer. Since starting, I’ve been introducing myself to local businesses and residents across St Johns, Southborough, and High Brooms.
Recently, I worked alongside Trading Standards on a joint visit to a business in Southborough following reports of illegal sales. Together with Trading standards, multiple items were seized pending further investigation.
On 28th November, while on foot patrol, a member of the public handed me a ring they found outside Wells Physiotherapy, near Southborough Civic Centre. If you’ve recently lost a ring and can describe it in detail, please visit Tunbridge Wells Police Station to collect it.
I also want to make you aware of a burglary that occurred on Prospect Road, Southborough, on Monday 1st December between 07:00 and 20:00. Two high-value adult bicycles were stolen from an outbuilding—one blue, and one black and green. If you saw anything suspicious or have CCTV footage that might help, please contact Kent Police and quote reference 46/206774/25.
Please follow the following link for advice on how to best protect your sheds and outbuilding from theft. https://www.kent.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/protect-home-crime/secure-shed-garage/#:~:text=Take%20a%20look%20at%20your,with%20wire%20mesh%20or%20grills.
I know the recent water issues have been challenging for many residents, and I hope things are starting to improve. Finally, I’ll be holding a drop-in surgery tomorrow (Friday 5th December) at Café 137, London Road, Southborough (TN4 0NA) at 09:30. Please come along for a coffee and a chat if you’d like to raise any concerns or just say hello. I’ll also be attending the Christmas Winter Fayre on Saturday 6th at the Civic Centre, and I look forward to meeting more members of the community there.
