Christmas is coming! Leaving presents in vehicles

With the festive season coming up I wanted to post a friendly resident reminder of the importance of not leaving presents (or anything) in an unattended vehicle.

On average, people in the UK are expected to spend quite a bit on presents for family and friends this Christmas and from a recent MoneySuperMarket survey they found that “41% of UK drivers reported leaving presents in their car overnight.” This really isn't a good idea as this puts your vehicle and those lovely presents at risk of being stolen! 

Someone said to me that worst case scenario their “car insurance would cover it” but actually that's not always the case as some policies don't cover contents (includes gifts/purchase items). So alongside the increase of your (and surrounding postcode area) insurance policy, and the frustration and upset of being a victim of crime, all those gifts may need to be repurchased!

Have a calm and pleasant time over December and secure those gifts and your vehicle.
