Maidenhead Central Updates from PCSO Jason MillerResident
In the last couple of weeks a 35 year old local man has been sent to prison for 26 weeks after being identified from CCTV footage by PCSO Miller. He has since been convicted of several separate theft related offences in Maidenhead, Taplow & Slough. Two of these offences relate to expensive bicycles being stolen from gardens / sheds. He was found guilty at court of five offences and sentenced for each to run concurrently with a suspended sentence which was activated. Please use this as an opportunity to improve any security in sheds & outbuildings, purchase an alarm (cost approx £15) lock any bikes up using good quality D - Locks etc. Also consider using CCTV or doorbell camera's.
Also, a 36 year old local man has been convicted at court for a business burglary in the town centre where several hundred pounds worth of goods were stolen, he was also charged with breaching court bail conditions. He was remanded to prison last week & will appear at court on 17th December & 19th December and is highly likely to receive a custodial prison sentence for his crimes. He was arrested after being located by officers following information being received of his whereabouts being shared by RBWM.
Elsewhere on area we have had cars being broken into with varying items being stolen, when you park up remember to remove all your valuables including electricals, wallets, handbags, cash, sports equipment etc. Opportunist thieves will break into a vehicle if they see something that catches their eye and this could be costly if you become a victim.
Lastly, Maidenhead NHPT & RBWM will be working together to help reduce antisocial behaviour taking place at Stafferton Way, Multi- storey car park in the next few months. The car park has seen a number of issues taking place which is not acceptable, many genuine users of the car park have been left feeling unsafe especially when returning to vehicles in hours of darkness.
Stay safe and if you have any concerns you would like to raise with us, watch out for messages from the team via TV Alert & Windsor and Maidenhead Facebook account etc. for where you live of how you can come and see us at one of our upcoming Have Your Say meetings.
