The stop searches were conducted under:

Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, which allows officers to search individuals or vehicles when they reasonably suspect controlled substances may be present.

Section 1 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) 1984, which provides authority to search for stolen or prohibited items.

Outcomes and Benefits

A quantity of drugs was seized, removing harmful substances from circulation.

The increase in stop activity has generated valuable intelligence submissions, strengthening our understanding of local criminal activity.
