Rural burglaries – Silver Street, Old Newton |

Officers are reminding residents and businesses, especially those in rural locations to be vigilant, following a number of shed burglaries and thefts in Old Newton.
The incidents occurred sometime overnight between 10.30pm Sunday 30th November and the early hours of Monday 1st December.
At approximately 2am – 2.30am a homeowner heard a vehicle on gravel and noticed a security light had been activated. On investigation, they saw the door to their shed was open, the lock had been removed, and a chainsaw and two hedge cutters were stolen. Crime ref: 37/67879/25
Another home in Silver Street was targeted, and Christmas decoration including inflatables, lights and leads were stolen from a front garden. Crime ref: 37/67896/25
A shed at another home on Silver Street was broken into when the padlock and door were damaged. A fence panel was removed to possibly gain entry to the next garden. Nothing was reported stolen from the shed. Crime ref: 37/68002/25
A property on Ward Green was broken into and various keys to plant vehicles were stolen. It is believed tools and batteries were also stolen. Crime ref: 37/68014/25
