Dear Resident Hemel Hempstead drug dealer jailed for 10 years A man from Hemel Hempstead has been jailed for more than 10 years after being found guilty of dealing cocaine and heroin. John Achiman, aged 42, from Marlowes, in the town, was arrested in April this year following a long running investigation by our Operation Relentless team. Achiman was part of a gang that had been supplying cocaine and heroin across the Hemel Hempstead area from May 2024 until his arrest. Half a kilo of cocaine and £7,000 were seized during the operation. Achiman was sentenced at Luton Crown Court on Friday 28 November, to 10 years and four months in prison, for 16 counts of conspiracy to supply class A drugs (cocaine & heroin). A spokesperson from Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Operation Relentless team said: “Achiman was the principal member of the gang, involved in distributing cocaine across Hemel Hempstead and surrounding areas. “We conducted an in-depth investigation into the gang’s activities, compiling evidence over several months. We will not leave any stone unturned in pursuing these kinds of organised crime groups that deal drugs and exploit vulnerable people. The removal of a significant amount of hard drugs from the streets will make our communities safer and reduce associated crime and violence. This operation was the result of intelligence supplied by the community. If you have information about drug dealing, tell us and we will deal with those responsible.” Report drug crime by: • Filling out our online reporting form at https://orlo.uk/6qfoD • Speaking to an operator in our Force Communications Room via online webchat at https://orlo.uk/dUID2 • Calling our non-emergency telephone number 101 (in an emergency, always dial 999). • Contacting Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or visiting crimestoppers-uk.org. | ||
