Neighbourhood Policing Team – Weekly Round-Up |
||
|
It’s been another busy and productive week for our PCSOs across the district, with lots of engagement, safety advice, and community support. Here’s what we’ve been up to:
PCSO Mitchell, alongside Neighbourhood Watch, spent time engaging with cyclists to promote road safety. Free bike lights were handed out and advice was given on how to stay visible and safe during the darker months. Between 5pm and 6pm, the team were out on Marine Parade, Splash Point, raising awareness of the “Be Bright, Be Seen” campaign — highlighting how important it is for both cyclists and pedestrians to remain visible. Key safety tips include: Wear bright or reflective clothing Always use bike lights Wear a helmet when riding
PCSO Isaac visited the Banking Hub on Shoreham High Street, speaking with four groups of members of the public about common scams — including romance fraud, telephone scams, and doorstep scams. Advice was given on how to report incidents through 101, Action Fraud, and by speaking with bank staff. Everyone was also provided with scam awareness booklets. PCSO Isaac was joined by Paul, the Banking Hub Operator for Shoreham, who helped support the session.
PCSO Waite-Jones and PCSO Coyte-Smith spent time with Acorn Squirrels and 2nd Durrington River Bank Beavers, where they were warmly greeted — including by one enthusiastic young boy dressed as a police officer! The children learned what to do if they ever get lost, as well as how and when to call the police. Thank you to everyone who stopped to speak with us this week. We’re always here to support, advise, and keep our community safe. If you’d like our team to visit your group, school or community organisation, feel free to get in touch!
