Protecting Purses and Bags Keep them Secure: Always keep purses and bags closed and securely fastened (zipped or snapped shut is best).Wear Bags Securely: Carry bags in front of you or diagonally across your chest.Never Leave Unattended: Do not hang bags on the back of chairs, leave them on tables, or in shopping trolleys.Conceal Valuables: Keep expensive or designer items discreet and out of sight.Use Money Belts: If carrying a significant amount of cash, use a money belt. Protecting Mobile Phones Keep it Hidden: Keep your phone out of sight when not in use, preferably in a zipped internal pocket.Be Alert When Using: When using your phone, be aware of who is around you, especially near roads where thieves on bikes or mopeds might snatch it.Never Place on Tables: Do not leave your phone on cafรฉ or pub tables.Use Tracking Apps: Set up a tracking app (like 'Find My iPhone' or Google's device locator) to help trace the device if it's lost or stolen.Register Your Phone: Find your phone's unique IMEI number by dialling *#06# and register it on the national property register, Immobilise. This can help the police return your phone if it is recovered. Do Not Resist: If threatened, do not fight to keep your belongings; your safety is more important than property.
