Local Priorities Shoplifting Message

I wanted to provide you an update regarding Shoplifting, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

On 2/12/2025 at 0940 hours PCSO MANGSAT, PC CHEN and PCSO DESOUZA detained and arrested prolific shoplifter from MARKS and SPENCER. Suspect took 8 - 10 of bottles of wine worth more than £100 being recovered by the Streatham Safer Neighbourhood Team(St Leonards) also assault the M&S Staff and SNT quickly intervened to stopped the suspect for assaulting other M&S staff. Shop manager said suspect was a prolific shoplifter. Staff appreciated well all Police officers whom responded and take suspect to custody.
