Parcel Theft Awareness – Important Community Notice

During recent patrols, a large number of parcels were found left outside properties in open and highly visible locations. With parcel theft on the rise, this is a growing concern for our community.

We have seen a significant increase in reports of stolen parcels, and leaving deliveries in visible areas unfortunately makes homes an easy target for opportunistic thieves. With the Christmas season approaching and more online shopping taking place, the risk is even higher.

How to Keep Your Parcels Safe

Please take a moment to review these simple steps that can help protect your deliveries:

Choose a safe, hidden place for parcels to be left—away from street view.

Use delivery instructions to guide drivers to a secure location (porch, side gate, behind bins, etc.).

Make use of Parcel Lockers, collection points, or Click & Collect services.

Ask a trusted neighbour to accept your delivery if you’re not home.

Consider installing a video doorbell or security camera as a deterrent.

Report any suspicious behaviour.

Report Concerns Through the MET ENGAGE Platform

If you witness suspicious activity or have concerns, please report it through the Metropolitan Police Online Platform. Every report, no matter how small, helps us build a better understanding of local issues and respond more effectively.

Encourage Your Neighbours to Join

Please spread the word and encourage neighbours, friends, and local residents to register and engage with the Met platform.

The more people involved, the stronger and safer our community becomes.
