Local Priorities Drug dealing/ drug use Message

I wanted to provide an update regarding drug dealing / drug use, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

Cranford officers have been out recently in the area on foot patrols in order to disrupt any ASB taking place or drug use. Officers came across an individual smoking cannabis in the underpass by Jolly Waggoners. This male was detained and further searched under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, resulting in further cannabis being found in their possession.

This cannabis was seized from the individual and was issued a £90 Fixed Penalty Notice as a result, in an attempt to deter smoking cannabis in the future.

We are committed to tackling drug dealing wherever we find it. We will keep you updated on our efforts to do this in your area, but if you have any concerns or evidence, it is important you report this as soon as possible.
