Weekly round-up from your local Neighbourhood Team |

|
Hello, and welcome to your round up from the St Matthew’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, part of Walsall’s Local Policing Area (LPA). Keeping the different communities in St Matthew’s informed of some of the activities that we have done recently.
Some things that we have been doing on our patch recently:
The team have been carrying out high visibility patrols, particularly during the darker nights providing visibility and reassurance to anyone working in or visiting the area.
Officers are continuing to patrol areas where reports of youths are causing ASB in the blocks of flats in the area and in the town centre and have also conducted a joint visit with Walsall Council officers.
PCSO’s attended a residents meeting at an apartment block for the over 55’s near to Walsall town centre. PCSO's offered residents advice about how to stay safe during the festive season. There was advice on personal safety, vehicle safety and home security. Also there was reassurance given to staff and residents living in the block, after the apartments communal lounge area had recently been burgled and a rough sleeper was found bedded down in a stairwell.
Members of the team attended the Walsall festive lights switch on. A very impressive and well attended event for the people of Walsall. There was a very positive vibe throughout the event and no issues arose from the evening. The team worked in partnership with Walsall Council’s Community Protection Team to make the event safe, and members of the public felt reassured with our presence
Officers continue to patrol Caldmore, due to ongoing issues with vehicles parking on double yellow lines and zig zags, vehicles that have been causing an obstruction will be noted down and will be receiving a fine in due course.
Officers have conducted Crime Prevention Advice Surgeries at Guru Nanak Gurdwara and St Matthews Church Walsall both establishments were very welcoming and have been grateful for our visits.
Advice from the Team:
Tis the season…. to stay safe The festive season is here, and it's time to get into the holiday spirit while staying safe. Things to consider are vehicle security, home security and personal safety.
