Weekly Round-Up – Caerphilly Central Neighbourhood TeamHello everyone, We hope you’ve had a great week! Here’s a quick update on what your local Neighbourhood Team has been doing to keep our community safe and connected: ✅ operation Firefly Arrest for Vehicle Theft A male from the Pontllanfraith area was located and arrested for theft from an unattended motor vehicle in Crosskeys. Stolen items were recovered and returned to their rightful owners. ✅ operation Firefly Motorbike Theft Arrest Officers acted swiftly to arrest a male from Cefn Fforest for the theft of a motorbike. The stolen bike was recovered and returned to its owner. ✅ Operation Ferret – Tackling Shoplifting As part of Operation Ferret, targeting shoplifting in the area, officers arrested a male in Blackwood town for multiple shoplifting offences and assault on an emergency worker. Additionally, another prolific shoplifter was charged and remanded with support from colleagues in South Wales Police. ✅ Operation iron Patrols & Anti-Social Behaviour Further patrols have taken place at Blackwood Bus Station and town centre. Officers issued several anti-social behaviour referrals and seized illegal scooters being ridden in the bus station. ✅ Community Engagement Our PCSOs visited local primary schools across the section, delivering crime prevention advice and engaging with pupils and staff. We were warmly welcomed by everyone!
