Community Awareness |

We have received reports of a male attending addresses in the Mornington Road area around 7:00PM on Friday 28th November, knocking on doors and claiming to be deaf while raising money for charity. The individual is described as showing a laminated card stating that he is selling drawings, but has not provided any formal identification or confirmation of the charity he claims to represent. There has also been reports of a small group operating in the area using similar tactics, potentially targeting vulnerable people. We are sharing to information to help keep our community safe. Our advice: -Do not open the door if you feel unsure or uncomfortable. -Always ask for official identification from anyone claiming to represent a charity or organisation. -Do not feel pressured to donate on the doorstep, reputable charities will never mind if you decline. -Look out for vulnerable neighbours. -Report suspicious behaviour. How you can help: Share this information with family or friends and neighbours. Encourage others to report similar encounters so we can build a clearer picture of activity in the area. Your awareness helps us protect the community. If you have any information relating to this issue, please contact us.
