Welcome to our monthly update for the residents and communities of the NL64 Shepshed Loughborough West Neighbourhood Policing Area (NPA). This newsletter will be circulated on a regular basis and will provide an insight into what is happening at the NPA.

Neighbourhood policing beat priorities are typically determined through a combination of community input, crime data analysis, and partnership working. Here’s how the process usually works:

Partnership intelligence – Local Authorities and Community Groups

Beat priorities are usually reviewed every 3 months (or as needed) to ensure they reflect current issues

Heres what we have been doing this month in relation to our current beat priorities

Road Safety – The team have been conducting patrols around a number of our schools at peak times, engaging with parents around the importance of parking safely and sensibly within the vicinity of the schools and minimising disruption to other road users and residents. We have also been conducting speed checks within the vicinity of Shepshed Road, Hathern.

Shop Thefts – The team have been visiting a number of our local stores who are particularly targeted by shoplifters, Engaging with staff and security, and providing that visual presence to deter thefts from occurring.

Drug Dealing – The team have been liaising with local residents, gathering information on suspected drug activity in the area. This information is utilised in our ongoing drugs warrant and closure order applications. Where we currently have court dates pending for those applications to be heard, so watch this space for further updates
