🚨 Crime & Safety Updates 🚨 I would like to remind residents the importance of vehicle safety on frosty mornings. PCSO’s carried out an early morning patrol on Wednesday 26th November and spoke to numerous residents who had left their keys in the vehicle whilst running and unattended, to defrost the vehicle. We advise against this, as if the vehicle was stolen insurance companies may not accept the claim and pay out if you are seen as responsible. ✅ Crime Prevention Tips: Protect your keyless entry car with these tips - - Put the keys in a screened or signal blocking pouch, such as a Faraday Bag and check if the bag or pouch is still working every few months. - Place a steering lock or install a tracker that can activate once a vehicle is stolen. - Reprogramme your keys if you buy a second hand car. - Always lock your vehicle, checking your fob has done its job. Check for signs your vehicle is locked, such as folding door mirrors, flashing headlights/indicators or hearing the alarm engaging. - Register your CCTV and digital doorbells via our new CCTV Registry Scheme.
