Dear Residents, PCSO Gilkes here this is a quick round up from me and the rest of the Hillfield’s neighbourhood policing team. What`s been happening: We have conducted high visible patrols around your neighbourhood, aiming at the hotspots for anti-social behaviour. We have conducted joint visits and operations. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: Your local Neighbourhood team have been out and about engaging in the community. We held a joint visit with one of your local housing associations this week and had a foot patrol through the hotspots where there has been an increase in crimes and anti-social behaviour. We discussed around ways we can improve to prevent further issues from continuing. Officers also did a joint foot patrol with the community warden from the council around your local neighbourhood. This was to tackle any anti-social behaviour including drinking alcohol on the streets. This week officers were involved in an operation called Op Advanced. This operation focuses on vehicles that are being driven with illegal window tints, no insurance, and educating drivers of making sure they are abiding by the laws of the road. We issued a few drivers with fixed penalty notices, seized a few cars and removed several illegal tints. We have been out visiting your local religious establishments to organise engagement for next year. We are planning Cuppa with Coppa at different locations around your local neighbourhood. This will give you the opportunity to come along and discuss any issues you are facing. These sessions are open to residents and will just be police holding these. Keep your eyes peeled for the dates. ARRESTS: This week your local officers made some great arrests this set. Altogether there were 4 arrests made regarding known offenders causing issues within the local neighbourhood this week. OTHER HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK: This week we have had 6 stop and searches in your local neighbourhood. These are a great way to disrupt anti-social behaviour in your area. Your local officers were out on patrol around anti-social behaviour hotspots. They managed to locate a male that was causing issues to residents, which is when they discovered a baseball bat and a knife. This resulted in both weapons being seized and 1 male being arrested. GREAT NEWS: Your local neighbourhood team are looking a setting up a Street watch in Hillfields. Street Watch Team is a community patrol initiative that helps you make a difference where you live. Street watch gives you and your community an opportunity to keep your area safe.
