Keep this number safe—you’ll need it if your phone is lost or stolen.Register your phone: Use a Secured by Design approved property registration database at www.securedbydesign.com. This helps police identify you as the rightful owner and return your handset if recovered.Use security features: Set up a PIN or password lock to protect your data and prevent unauthorized use.Keep your phone secure: Never leave your phone unattended in public places or vehicles.Be extra cautious in busy venues: Bars, cafes, restaurants, and music venues are common targets for thieves.Stay alert when using your phone in public: Be aware of your surroundings and avoid distractions.Avoid using your phone in public at night: If necessary, choose well-lit areas and avoid taking your phone out at train stations or bus stops.Ignore spam messages: Never reply to suspicious SMS or Bluetooth messages, even to text ‘STOP’.Install a tracker app: This can help locate your device if stolen. If your phone is stolen, act quickly—inform the police and let them know you have a tracker installed. Stay vigilant and help us reduce mobile phone theft in our community.
