Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) are here to help everyone enjoy Hounslow’s parks, streets, and town centres. They’re not about punishment—they’re about protecting our shared spaces and building a stronger, safer community.

What is a PSPO?

A PSPO sets clear, fair rules for how public spaces can be used. It helps tackle behaviours that harm our community—such as persistent anti-social behaviour, littering, or street drinking—so that everyone can feel welcome and safe.

Why is this good for Hounslow?

Safer Spaces: PSPOs reduce nuisance and anti-social behaviour, making it easier for families, businesses, and visitors to enjoy our borough.

Cleaner Environment: By discouraging littering and irresponsible behaviour, PSPOs support a cleaner, greener Hounslow.

Community Confidence: When public spaces feel safe and well-managed, people are more likely to use them, strengthening local pride and community spirit.

How does it work?

PSPOs are enforced fairly and proportionately. Our priority is education and engagement first—helping people understand the rules and why they matter. Enforcement is a last resort, used only when necessary to protect the community.

Report civil anti-social behaviour (ASB) to Hounslow Council: https://www.hounslow.gov.uk/street-problems

Online:

Abandoned Vehicles
Dog Fouling
Noise Nuisance
Fly-tipping or Illegal Waste Dumping

Phone: 020 8583 2000

Report crime or crime-related ASB to the Police:

Emergency: Call 999 if a crime is happening now or someone is in immediate danger.

Non-emergency: Call 101 or report online via Met Police Report Tool (best for incidents not happening right now and where no one is in imminent danger).

Examples for police reporting:

Aggressive or threatening behaviour

Drug dealing or use

Vandalism or criminal damage

Violence or harassment
