Burglary Near You - Durham Road

Dear Resident

You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on Tuesday 25th November from 1330hrs into 26th November until 0511hrs, it is unknown what time this occurred and the method of attack was by snapping the cylinder lock allowing entry. 

LOCUS IS A TERRACED HOUSE IN A RESEDENTIAL AREA, BETWEEN TIMES AND DATES STATED UNKNOWN SUSPECT/ SUSPECTS HAVE SNAPPED A EURO PROFILE LOCK TO GAIN ENTRY TO THE PROPERTY AND CARRIED OUT AN UNTIDY SEARCH OF THE WHOLE HOUSE BEFORE MAKING OF WITH £200-£300 IN CASH.

Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between Tuesday 25th November after midday- Wednesday 26th November until 0600am to check if you had any activations. 

Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock. 

Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police.
