Op Skybridge - Deployment update. |
||
|
Good morning residents.
Yesterday marked 14 days since the Op Skybridge team deployed to Erdington & Stockland Green, supported by the local neighbourhood teams to help tackle the serious and acquisitive crimes (SAC) of Burglary, Robbery & Vehicle Crime.
I am pleased to report that when comparing the 14 days since our deployment started, with the 14 days prior, there has been a reduction in each offence type and a 36% reduction overall.
This is a great step forward, achieved by working in partnership with your local dedicated neighbourhood teams to pro-actively prevent offending, disrupt and seek out those that cause your community harm.
However, we acknowledge that behind every single offence, there are victims of crime and we all remain dedicated to making greater reductions to improve your communities.
You can help! As the darker nights continue, ensure that all windows and doors are locked. Remove all valuables from cars and hide anything that may look like a potential target. Consider the use of crime prevention equipment including Steering locks, Signal blocking key pouches, CCTV, lighting and smart doorbells.
We also encourage you to report any suspicious behaviour via West Midlands Police webchat or 101. Get in touch with any information relating to Burglary, Robbery, Vehicle or Drug crime by contacting CrimeStoppers or emailing us directly on Opskybridge@westmidlands.police.uk
You can also stop us for a chat if you see us. Look out for our cars that are clearly marked with “Op Skybridge”.
But, as always if you are in doubt, or IN AN EMERGENCY CALL 999
We look forward to hearing from you. Op Skybridge.
