Oldham District Attestation 2025/26
On Tuesday 25/11/25 GMP Oldham Neighbourhood Police Team launched the second year of the Oldham district Mini Police initiative. This scheme proved so successful last year resulting in over 20 students from year 5 from Beever Primary School and Holy family applying and through an interview process we now have 11 new recruits combined from both school. The evening centred around the Mini Police attestation, where all 11 students representing their school and Oldham Mini Police stood proudly to attest their promises to represent Greater Manchester Police and their respective schools to the best of their abilities. Year 6 Mini Police Officer’s from both school also attended and delivered a Presentation with their Head Teacher with regards to their experiences during the project last year. This was event was a major success with all Mini Officer’s being a credit to the school they represent, their families and GMP. This could only be possible with the continued support of Staff of both Schools. Oldham Division Chief Inspector closed this ceremony by addressing our Mini Police Officer’s as follows: “Good evening everyone, and thank you for inviting me to share in this very special occasion. I can’t tell you how pleased and proud I am to be here tonight, celebrating the achievements of our fantastic Year 5 and Year 6 Mini Police recruits.
First of all, just look at you! You all look so smart and professional. it’s clear you’ve taken this role seriously, and that makes me incredibly proud. Wearing that uniform isn’t just about looking good; it’s about showing responsibility, respect, and pride in your community.
You’re not just part of a project. you’re role models. The younger pupils in your school will look up to you, and even the older ones will notice the example you set. That’s a big responsibility, but I know you’re ready for it.
Over the coming months, you’ll be involved in some really exciting things, helping at community events, learning about how we keep people safe, and even sharing important messages about things like road safety and looking after each other. You’ll get to see some of the cool equipment we use, meet officers from different teams, and learn skills that will stay with you for life.
Most importantly, you’ll be passing on what you learn to your friends and family, making your school and your community an even better place. That’s what being Mini Police is all about—working together, caring for others, and making a difference.
So, congratulations to each and every one of you. Wear that uniform with pride, enjoy every moment, and remember—you’re helping to make your world safer and stronger. Well done!”
