I wanted to provide an update regarding drug dealing / drug use, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. On 24th November 2025 officers from St Pancras & Somers Town Safer Neighbourhood Team and CID executed with the support of the TSG a Section 23 Drugs Warrant on Plender Street, NW1.
Multiple arrests were made and a sizable amount of Class A and Class B substances seized alongside multiple phones a large amount of cash and prohibited weapons including a zombie knife and nun-chucks.
Focus on Cuckooing in St Pancras & Somers Town
In “Cuckooing”, professional criminals target the homes of adults with care and support needs, to use their property for drug dealing. Victims are often lonely, isolated, and frequently drug users themselves. Dealers approach the victim offering free drugs in exchange for use of the home for dealing. In this way, criminals operate from a discreet property, out of sight. They can use the premises to deal and manufacture drugs. The inhabitants can feel afraid to go to police for fear of being suspected of involvement or identified as a gang member. If you feel you are living in or near a property being used to deal drugs, or if you are concerned about your property as a landlord or property manager, below are some signs to look out for: • Usually takes place in a multi-occupancy or social housing property • Increased coming and goings • Offenders will often have new vehicles outside the property, frequently use taxis or hire cars • Increase in ASB activity in and around the property • Visitors may be aware of new unidentified persons in the property • The property may become sparse of valuable possessions and go into a state of disrepair
The local policing team works to safeguard and protect victims, as well as other residents by stopping the anti-social and criminal activity occurring. If you think it is happening in any address, then please let us know.
