Organised crime disrupted

Good Morning Graveney Residents, 

Last week your Safer Neighbourhood Team disrupted organised crime by identifying a brothel and conducting a visit as part of OPERATION MOONTWIST. Officers gained entry to the premises, safeguarded the females within and are seeking prosecution for the landlord in charge of the location. 

Brothels are often run by organised crime gangs for financial gain, whilst putting vulnerable women at risk of harm. 

We known these locations have a huge impact on the community as well as the women working within them. 

Violence against women and girls (VAWG) is one of the Met's policing priorities. Our commitment to creating a safer 
environment for women and vulnerable people now and in the future, is fundamental to our role, and will continue to be.

Our objectives now are to secure convictions for those responsible, as well as obtain a closure order from the court which will prevent any further use of the venue for illicit activities.
