Cash for Crash Incidents |
||
|
Dear Residents, Today SNT-Northfield have carried out an operation in various hotspots in Northfield due to concerns raised by residents in the past month regarding the rise in Cash for Crash Incidents. If you did not know, Cash for Crash is a fraud whereby organised groups cause accidents and road traffic collisions with other motorists especially at approaches to junctions and roundabouts and may fake injuries in order to receive a payout from the Victim's insurance company. Today we used both Plain clothed and uniformed officers in order to carry out patrols in these hotspots to identify and stop any vehicle, specifically mopeds or motorcycles who may behaving suspiciously by being stationary or idling near to junctions. We do continue to advise you to either email Northfield@met.police.uk to provide any intelligence to us of any vehicle acting suspiciously or idling neat to junctions who you suspect may be involved such incidents and please provide as much detail as possible with regards to the description of driver/rider, the make/model of vehicle, colour of vehicle, time/date that you saw vehicle and importantly the location. If you have been a victim of Cash for Crash incidents or witness such incidents suspecting it to be a Cash for Crash to report it to the police via the Insurance Fraud Bureau’s confidential CheatLine on 0800 422 0421 or insurancefraudbureau.org/cheatline. Always call 999 in case of emergency. Kind regards, SNT-Northfield | ||
