Dear Resident
Between 2 am and 2:15am a theft of a vehicle occurred in Mercia Road in Clothall Common, Baldock.
A red BMW was taken from outside the victim's address, without stealing the car keys. The vehicle was then driven the short distance to Hopewell Road, Baldock - where it was parked up on a grass verge. The owner was able to locate it, via a tracking app, and attended with Police to recover their vehicle. The vehicle had no damage and is back with the owner.
Local officer enquiries have identified that the BMW arrives on Hopewell Road around 2:20 am, travelling from the direction of Letchworth Road.
If you have any CCTV that covers the route between those times, I would urge you to check for any footage. If you have a keyless car (where you do not need to put the keys in the ignition to start the vehicle) or any vehicle, please consider taking the security steps below.
