Winter Lights Walk at Barra Hall Park & Police Patrols

The Hayes Neighbourhood Policing Team are conducting a “Winter Lights Walk” at Barra Hall Park on Monday 8th December 2025, between 1800-1900hrs. This is to highlight the concern that people, particularly women, feel walking in spaces when it is dark. This is tailored to our efforts to improve how we listen to those impacted by Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG).

We are looking to promote this to Women and their families, to join us on this community event. We ask people to bring a flashlight or lantern.

Today, our officers will be out and about across Hayes Town Ward, conducting routine patrols and focusing on local hotspots. If you see us while we’re on patrol, please don’t hesitate to say hello, we’re always happy to chat and hear from our community.

✅ Crime Prevention Tips:

🏠 Home Security

Install good-quality locks on doors and windows.

Use timer switches for lights when you’re away to make your home look occupied.

Keep gardens and entrances well-lit.

🚗 Vehicle Safety

Never leave keys in the ignition, even for a moment.

Remove valuables and sat-navs from view.

Park in well-lit, busy areas whenever possible.

📱 Personal Safety

Keep your phone and bag secure when out and about.

Avoid sharing your location publicly on social media.

Stay alert in crowded places and near transport hubs.

💻 Online Safety

Use strong, unique passwords for your accounts.

Enable two-factor authentication where possible.

Be cautious of unsolicited emails or messages asking for personal details.

👥 Community Awareness

Report suspicious behaviour immediately via 101 or online.

In emergencies, always dial 999.
