School patrols - Rushwick C.E. Primary School |
||
|
This morning, PCSO Smith and PCSO Emeny from the Kempsey & Alfrick Safer Neighbourhood Team have attended Rushwick C.E. Primary School following concerns raised over inconsiderate parking. We would like to reiterate the importance of legal and responsible parking during school drop off and pick up times. Examples include parking on pavements, causing obstructions, parking on double or single yellow lines. This standard of parking is wholly unacceptable and illegal, and most importantly can put children's safety at risk. We know that most people want to do the right thing and drive safely and responsibly. We therefore request that you adhere to the following when parking, dropping off or collecting children from school; - Keep clear of the school ‘Zig-Zags' - Adhere to local parking restrictions - Ensure pavements, junctions &driveways and pedestrian access points are kept clear - Ensure emergency vehicles would be able to get past if needed - Behave in a manner that is respectful towards others- including pedestrians and local residents - Park further away from the school if at all possible If you choose to ignore this advice you may find yourself at risk of being prosecuted/ being issued with a parking ticket by council enforcement officers and/ or the police. Remember inconsiderate and dangerous parking outside schools puts pedestrians lives at risk. Our school patrols continue across the patch both during drop off and pick up times.
