Good Evening Resident
Chelmsley Wood Newsletter 23rd November 2025
It’s been a busy Sceptre week for the PCSO’s, this is how we have been raising awareness and tackling knife crime. We have been on the Town Centre with the Knife Pole talking to members of the public about Sceptre week and how we are reducing knife crime. Thank you to everyone who stopped to talk to us. We have conducted knife sweeps in our parks. If you follow us on X, @chelmsleyWMP you will have seen me poking around in bushes! The Schools Team have been delivering educational inputs to local senior schools. Safer travel colleagues have helped on the Bus Interchange around peak times. Enforcement of the PSPO is a Chelmsley Wood Team priority. Raising awareness of the weapons surrender bin, located at the bottom of the staircase, opposite the multi storey car park, as you enter the Town Centre.
Our Officers have also been busy this set of shifts with 5 arrests made for numerous and varied offences.
Myself and PCSO Ian took part in Take Over Day at Windy Arbor School on Friday, we had a fabulous time. This happens once a year when year 6 students take on the roles of the adults in school. We had two amazing junior PCSO’s with us and it was great fun. We filled two black bags of litter from around the outside of the school. We even found a vehicle number plate so got to investigate where it had come from and use the phonetic alphabet, sorry parents they really caught the bug and might be spelling everything out phonetically from now on, we even had actions for some of the letters (although they thought my Golf swing was more like baseball). Pictures shared with parental consent.
Crime Updates Over the last couple of weeks a number of windows have been smashed in the local area. Residents in Frensham Close, Marlene Croft, Dunster Road & Blair Grove have suffered criminal damage. On some reports it says children were seen running away and others state teenagers on bikes may be responsible. If you have witnessed any of these incidents or can offer any information on the identity of these culprits please send me a reply to this message.
