Weekend Round-Up

Over the weekend, officers have been busy across Blackwood and nearby communities to keep everyone safe and engaged. Here’s what we’ve been up to:

✅ High-Visibility Patrols throughout Blackwood
✅ 3 Arrests Made – resulting in charges
✅ 3 Stop and Searches Completed
✅ Illegal Scooters Seized
✅ ASB Referrals submitted for follow-up

Our team also attended the Blackwood Christmas Fayre, where we were delighted by the positive feedback from residents. Officers provided crime prevention and safety advice to help keep our community secure.

On Friday, officers carried out school engagement events, speaking with pupils about safety and community responsibility. We also worked alongside Police Cadets to identify items left on view in unattended vehicles, offering prevention advice to owners.

As part of Operation Drift, speed checks were conducted in Pontllanfraith and Aberbeeg to tackle dangerous driving. This operation has been set up after listening to concerns raised by members of the community. Officers will deploy around the section where speeding has been reported to us as an ongoing concern. 

Finally, Operation Circuit is underway – resulting in 3 off-road vehicles being seized at Twmbarlwm Mountain following proactive enforcement. Operation Circuit has been created to tackle the use of vehicles in an anti social manner, targeting off road bikes, Electric bikes and scooters
