Good morning, residents.
I hope you are all enjoying the holiday season as we approach Christmas, and I hope you are continuing to stay vigilant when you are out and about.
The team have been extremely busy this set as we continue to monitor our ASB hotspots, such as the bus interchange, the town centre, and our surrounding park areas. We are also continually patrolling Fordbridge to provide reassurance to our community, and to keep you all safe.
This set, we have had Op Sceptre, which is a national campaign in England and Wales that takes place twice a year focusing on tackling knife crime through the means of educating our younger community members on the dangers of carrying knives, and conducting proactive operations. In relation to this, you may have noticed our officers on the town centre set up with concealed weapon detector in order to deter people from carrying knives and weapons. We have been engaging with youths, parents, and members of the public surrounding the dangers of carrying a knife. Our officers have also been conducting knife sweeps in the local parks, and we are pleased to say no knives have been found.
The team have been very busy this set with 5 arrests, including one for robbery – all of the suspects are currently assisting with our enquiries. This is a fantastic result based on the hard work that our team does.
Speaking of having a busy set, our officers had responded to a call of a robbery offence, which resulted in one male being placed under arrest, and they are currently assisting with our enquiries.
Our officers have also been working with safer travel officers on the bus interchange in an effort to tackle anti-social behaviour on the buses, and on the bus interchange. We continue to do hard work around the bus interchange and anti-social behaviour as know the impact it has on our communities.
CRIME UPDATES: -Robbery (of personal property) – Moat Croft -Interference with a motor vehicle – Collins Way -Theft from a motor vehicle – Over Green Drive
Can you help? We are still looking for volunteers to help with Community Speed Watch. Whilst monitoring our local roads and collating data over the last 4 – 6 weeks, I would say Cooks Lane is particularly in need of regular speed monitoring. Is this something you would like to join in with? Are you a resident on Cooks Lane or surrounding roads and would like to help us tackle this concern? If the answer is YES, drop me a reply to this message. We are also looking for street-watch volunteers to join us for Fordbridge – if you are interested, and are a resident of Fordbridge or surrounding areas, please get into contact with me by dropping a reply to this message.
