Op Sceptre - tackling knife crime |
This week we’re supporting Op Sceptre, a national campaign to tackle knife crime. We know locally knife crime is relatively low compared to other areas, however, we’re not complacent and continue to take action to stop people from carrying a knife in the first place.
Operation Sceptre is a national initiative aimed at tackling knife crime and raising awareness about the dangers and consequences of knives. This week Pershore Safer Neighbourhood Team have been engaging with businesses regarding the laws around the sales of knives and delivering the relevant signage to be displayed. The team have also visited Pershore College with a knife arch, speaking to students about the dangers of being in possession of a knife.
If you are concerned about someone who may be involved in knife crime, or on the periphery of becoming involved, please let us know. Or, you can report this anonymously to Crimestoppers www.crimestoppers-org.uk. Information for children and young people can be found here Give information about crime 100% anonymously | Fearless | Crimestoppers (crimestoppers-uk.org)
