Dear Residents,
#Sceptre | Why do young people carry knives? For protection? For respect?
For many, carrying a knife has become the 'norm' and think little about the consequences.
Having a conversation with your child about the dangers of carrying a knife is important.
Carrying a knife for protection is not a valid reason for the police. It means you’re more likely to have it used against you.
You can even receive a four-year prison sentence just for carrying a weapon, and that’s without even intending to use it.
You can ditch the knife at any weapon surrender bin. Find out where they are: Weapon Surrender Bins - West Midlands Police & Crime Commissioner (westmidlands-pcc.gov.uk)
You can report something anonymously by visiting @CrimestoppersUK or by calling 0800 555 111
