Weekly Update

Dear Member,

A quick update of some of the things we have been doing over the past few days;

Following a report of a theft of a large quantity of items from Tesco Express, Hamstead yesterday evening, local Neighbourhood Officers conducted an area search and located the suspect near by with the stolen items. This person was arrested and taken to custody and was also ‘wanted' for numerous other shop thefts. Great result..!!

We have been carrying out late afternoon/evening patrols at Aviary Court in Hateley Heath and Hamstead House in Newton, following continued reports of youths gathering in communal areas causing anti social behaviour. These patrols will continue moving forwards and we will work alongside our partner agencies to identify and deter those involved.

Visible patrols have also taken place on Charlemont following reports of drug dealing by the shops on Beaconview Road and nearby Wyndmill Crescent.

The team have also visited Braeburn House on the Yew Tree estate for a community engagement afternoon involving a darts rematch, Residents v The Police, and a crime prevention talk. 

Finally we have visited the 4 Community Trust Hub this evening in Hateley Heath for a Police Surgery and spoke with staff and members of the community visiting the centre.
