Following an increase in Wildlife and Rural related crime across the Forest of Dean, the Rural Crime Team and Forest NPT Teams are appealing for anyone who witnesses such crime to report it.
Over the past several weeks , an increase in incidents have been reported to the Rural Crime Team – including –
Geese being intentionally killed at Lightmoor, Cinderford Reports of Vehicles on rural properties causing crop damage in the Coleford, St Braivels and Redmarley areas. Dead Deer being found in Fields in the above areas, some with bite marks on them – potentially from dogs, indicating possible poaching occurring.
This sort of incident is something that unfortunately happens on occasion by individuals who enjoy committing damage and harm to wild animals. Gloucestershire Police are committed to the investigation and prevention of such crime and encourage all that witness such incidents – even if it is a suspicious vehicle seen – to please report it on 999 if the crime is in progress or 101 if for information.
