I wanted to provide an update regarding drug dealing / drug use, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. NEWS UPDATE – GREENFORD BROADWAY
Yesterday (19/11/2025), officers from the Greenford Broadway Safer Neighbourhood Team, supported by Ealing Council’s Safer Communities team, attended a store on Greenford Broadway following earlier concerns around illegal and harmful products being sold.
During a previous visit, officers formally warned the business not to sell equipment or items commonly associated with the preparation, consumption, or supply of illegal drugs. Despite this warning, officers identified that the store continued to stock products falling into this category.
As a result, officers returned and seized the items under Section 9A of the Misuse of Drugs Act, which makes it an offence to sell or supply articles used to administer or prepare controlled substances.
A spokesperson for the team said:
“We always try to engage and work with local businesses first and support them to operate legally. However, where guidance is ignored and products continue to be sold unlawfully, enforcement action will be taken.”
The investigation will now continue, and further updates will be issued in due course.
This action forms part of ongoing work to reduce drug-related harm, safeguard vulnerable people, and maintain a safe environment for residents, businesses, and visitors across Greenford Broadway.
Anyone with information or concerns is encouraged to contact the team directly or report anonymously via Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
