Patrol Report – 19 November 2025Location: Smallhythe Road Whilst on patrol in the area of Smallhythe Road, Tenterden, I stopped a vehicle after receiving information that the driver may have been operating without a valid licence. Upon speaking with the driver, he stated that he held a provisional licence and had possessed it for approximately six years. He believed this entitled him to drive. The driver further confirmed that he had only attempted the driving test once, failed, and had made no further attempts to obtain a full licence. As a result, the vehicle was seized under relevant legislation. The driver was issued a Fixed Penalty Notice for driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence. The vehicle will incur recovery costs for the driver, and the offence will result in penalty points being endorsed on his record. These points may have further implications if and when he obtains a full licence. | ||
