Chislehurst, Mottingham and Bickley and Sundridge SNT were completing proactive patrols when a vehicle was seen parked up with the ignition on. The occupants were stopped under the Road Traffic Act, where a strong smell of cannabis was found to be coming from the vehicle. Both occupants were detained and searched under Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act, a quantity of Cannabis was found and the driver was arrested for being in charge of a motor vehicle whilst unfit through drugs. Through further checks it was established that the driver also held no insurance and was driving not in accordance with a licence.
