Proactive cycle operation

On Wednesday 19th November 2025 ward officers took part in a combined cycle operation with neighbouring ward officers on Parsons Green and Sandford Ward. This followed multiple complaints regarding cyclists failing to comply with red traffic signals and showing a lack of consideration for pedestrians, particularly parents and children during the morning school run. The aim of the operation was to identify and prevent traffic offences and, most importantly, to safeguard members of the public.

During the operation we were approached by a number of members of the public who expressed their support for the work we were doing in the area. 

The team worked exceptionally hard, and we issued 10 penalty notices during the operation. Following on from this we are looking to run a similar operation on Walham Green Ward, in the run up to Christmas.
