|
Dear Resident What has happened? Between 3.10 and 3.20 am on the 19th of November 2025 unknown offenders gained access to a property in Sir Alfreds Way, Sutton Coldfield by climbing through an insecure rear conservatory window. Once inside they snapped a lock to an internal door, entered the dinning room, they then used keys to open the conservatory doors, keeping them open with a door stop. Then then located the keys to the occupiers vehicle and exited with them through the rear door. Police then arrived and this likely prevented the offender(s) taking the vehicle, before making good their escape. What are we doing? Officers attended the scene, house to house , and cctv enquires have been conducted , and further lines of investigation are being conducted. What can you do? Please ensure all windows, and doors are secure and locked, if your property is unoccupied after dark use a timer switch to activate lights. We advise the fitting of Anti snap locks More crime prevention advice can be found by visiting www.westmidlands.police.uk / crime prevention. information on Anti snap locks can be found at www.locksmiths.co.uk
