A man has been sentenced after he admitted to driving offences in Stoke-on-Trent. William Guntripp, 19, from Uttoxeter, was sentenced to a community order for 18 months at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Tuesday (11 November) after he admitted driving whilst disqualified and using a motor vehicle on a road / public place without third party insurance. He was also ordered to complete 100 hours unpaid work. On Sunday 20 April, officers spotted a motorbike being driven on the pavement on Brookside Drive, Blurton. The motorbike was then driven down an alleyway. Following a short pursuit, Guntripp was arrested and he later admitted the offences in court. Sergeant Michael Johnson, of the Stoke-on-Trent south local policing team (LPT), said: “This sentencing demonstrates our commitment to protecting road users and tackling the problems associated with illegal motorbike use. “Through robust enforcement, rehabilitation, and community engagement, we can work together to create a safer road network and a more respectful environment for everyone.” | ||
